Steve, your BGE comes stock with a Tel Tru #LT225R. It is either a 150-750 or 200-100. They come in a 2 1/2" or 5" model.

there is not a better bimetal thermo on the market for your purposes.

If you need a replacement, I can get you one when I place my next Tel Tru order, or you can go directly to tel tru (http://www.teltru.com/s-43-barbecue.aspx)

If you want digital, that's a different story.

Do you use a Guru with your cooker?

http://www.thebbqguru.com/

It controls your temps precisely, reduces fuel usage greatly, displays temp of both pit and food, has customizable program, and even has a ramp down feature that computes meat and pit temps and then lowers pit temps as meat gets done so that pit temp ends up 5 below meat emp and holds when done.

Take a look at the site.

I am a dealer for them and can save you a few $ if you want one. It will solve a lot more than just your thermo needs.

Here's (http://www.theqjoint.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4237&highlight=maverick) all you need to know about the Maverick

I like the DigiQ II better. The cyberQ can control 2 units at once, and it has a lot of computer geeky features. I like the digi cuz it isn't complicated and does everything I need.

You will also need a fan, and I recommend the Pit Viper 10 cfm.

:roflmaoha0::roflmaoha0: If I don't sell it, I can generally tell you where to go to get it. :roflmaoha0:

That prolly comes from having considered buying everything that has to do with outdoor cooking atone time or another.:roflmaoha0::roflmaoha0:

Let's see, thermapens, Tel Tru thermos, Backwoods Smokers, FEC smokers, Rooster Booster...I have a feeling I'm forgetting a few things, anything that I own, if the price is right.
