Been cool and gray the last couple days and the Okette informed me that we needed to have chili. Unfortunately, we didn't have any in the freezer, so I had to make a pot tonight ( lotta work for a weeknight)

I went to the store kinda feeling the comfort food urges of an early fall, but when I came out, it was sunny and warming up nicely. Oh well, the scenario had been pu into motion, and now I had to follow through.

Long story short, about three hours later, I had this:

Then I made this:

Then I did this to it:

:twocents:There is real Tx RED (chili colrado)which is traditional no bean chili. Then there is Chili vegetable soup, that folks not from the Lonestar call chili. Just like BBQ and Gumbo there is no right or wrong only personal preference.Personally I like traditional Tx RED & the traditional Chili Verde. But that dosn't mean that I am such a chili snob as not to enjoy a good bowl of chili veg soup.:D

I learned a long time ago that what someone doesn't know won't hurt them! My ex didn't like beans in her chili! I did! I put the beans in the food processer and made them into "bean paste". It thickened the chili and I didn't hear nothin about the "beans" in the chili!:D

Ask me about the time I served SQUIRREL! :roflmaoha0::roflmaoha0::roflmaoha0: I SWEAR ON MY MOTHER'S GRAVE, SHE THOUGHT IT WAS THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN SHE EVER ATE!!!!!:roflmaoha0::roflmaoha0::roflmaoha0::smack :

P.S. It's all in the presentation! :msn-wink:

When I was growing up, my little brother liked his eggs one way and one way only; soft boiled and mashed with a fork with salt and pepper. He would not touch a fried egg. Mom got tired of cooking his egg special so one time she fried his egg and mashed it with a fork. He thought it was the best ever...till I told him it was fried. Then he spit it out. Boy did I get :smack:ed for that one! Of course he did too!:roflmaoha0::roflmaoha0:

You wouldn't believe how many have eaten sweet and sour grilled wild duck breast and claimed it was the best beef they have ever eaten.

I like it as long as it has plenty of jalapeņos and cheese in it.
