Here's another variant on cobbler that I cooked last night. I used some good old hand picked Tennessee blackberries .....dayum those forkin' thorns, ouch they hurt and stick so bad I almost shart myself when we pick 'em!

Ah, but these little succulent orbs of heavenly nectar make it all worth while:eating:

You can tell from the pics that my wife couldn't wait...as I turned for the camera she was already helping herself:shrug:

Here's the recipe for an "EASY" not "LAZY" Dutch Oven Cobbler:

(2) cans pie filling or (2) cups fresh fruit of your choice
(1) stick butter
(2) cups flour
(2) cups sugar
(1) teaspoon salt
(1) tablespoon of baking powder (not baking soda)
(1) cups of milk

Melt the stick of butter in your 10" or 12" Dutch oven making sure to coat the sides also with the butter.

As your Dutch oven is heating up start your batter.

In a large bowl mix the ingredients with the milk (make sure to use enough milk so the batter isn't too thick or stiff).

When you batter is mixed well pour over the butter slowly, but do not stir it into the butter (it all mixes well when it cooks and bubbles).

Once the batter is added to your oven spoon your filling of choice as even as you can.

Place your coals according to your oven size. Bake for about an hour or until golden brown.

I like the way the ice cream is starting to melt into the cobbler.

Half melted ice cream is the best!
