These ribs got two 5's on appearance. They are not 8-9's - but two fives is just wrong. I know I suck at trimming ribs - but am I off base thinking 5's were just bad luck? App. scores were: 556698

I wouldn't say 5's either....7 or up, at least.

Thank you! I figured 7ish for most judges. Don't get me wrong, I think the presentation was way off, but not 5's. Can you tell I am still upset? It's been a week now and I am still crying, sorry. At least we got a new banner!

Nice banner Mike :thumbs up: You got cheated on the ribs. I'd say 7 or 8

Yeah, they are 5's. There are three pieces of parsley set wrong in the lower left corner.

Other than that they were prolly 8's. I guess there were just 2 judges on the ball enough to notice.

Just kidding, they looked great to me.

Mr. Butt Lover - you guys got robbed! Maybe they were new or just plain figured they hadn't had any low scores yet so you got the bust. Who knows why people do what they do....

Scoot on over to Bryan's side and drink more beer and better luck next time on getting a better table.

Seriously, I've looked 3 times now and I see 8s at least.

IMO, those are certainly not 5's. They should have scored much higher.

Just goes to show there are a$$hole judges out there, and exemplifies the complexity of competition cooking.

Hey Mike, try using $20 dollar bills for garnish next time.

A good friend and winning BBQ cook told me that a while ago. I'm just trying to figure out how you can see to it that each judge gets one and you still end up ahead.

stuffed brisket, pork, ribs and chicken. Of course you just spent 600 per box and your not going to win enough to cover your expenses. But at least you would get a GC.

I think that was my point.
