View Full Version : Great News

I quit my job and have been asked to start up a sales department for a local company. Big boost in pay but a lot of work.

I was doing a small catering for a family reunion, one of the party member was asking about how I was cooking different meats then out of the blue said he had just signed up for a line of windows made by the same manufacturer I was selling windows for. We started talking about what he needed to do to get product on the street and he hired me two days later. I have 5 top sales guys and 3 marketing people all set to go.

Great chance to put money back into the bank, just maybe able to retire someday..

That is great news Jim! Glad you came into the deal. I wish you only the best in your new job and I hope you can retire years early (and take me with you).

Never hurts to have the gift of gab.

Hey Jim,
Great news! So glad to hear things are going your way! Now if we can just get the rest of the country straightend out ........... especially the health care thing. But that's another subject. One thing at a time. Congratulations!!

This beats what we generally see here by a mile! Hope this works and the building industry picks back up big time.
Never can tell what you might run on to schmoooozing the guests. :thumbs up:

And employees are.................................... well,.............. they can be....................... uh............................ ummmmmmm...........
I had 54 union and 5 supervisors. Most were great, some not so. Don't be afraid to pull the weeds.

Congrats to you! In this world, the only way you will ever make a move to something else is by talking to people in an open, informal approach like you did. Job boards, recruiters, etc should be less than 10% of your search time if you are in that mode....

Like PC says, being able to 'discuss' what you can bring to the table (or what you do) in a clear manner with anyone within the context of your relationship is important these days..... as you never know where it can lead.

Never hurts to have the gift of gab.

I heard it said one time that Tim has enough money to burn a wet mule. I think I need to go into the chemical supply biz.

Yeah, if it's wet from a good soaking of diesel fuel and you got a penny hot enough to ignite it.

I just wish that just once I would have as much money as I have bills.:blushing:

Well in the last 30 days I have been absent from forum but it has been 15 to 16 hour days getting the business ready to hit the streets. Have salespeople in homes starting tomorrow.

Hope to be able to get back on the forum and cooking again.
