im looking for a quick response for a seasoning i could make for some ribeyes im making tonight. the kid cant go too spicy so im at a loss. im thinking something savory not sweet that i dont need to marinate. any help is appreciated:sign0092:

1/4 cup of Kosher salt, 1/8 cup each of granulated onion, granulated garlic, cracked black pepper, and smoked paprika.

thanx chef, does it have to be smoked paprika? and can i smoke it myself to make some later?

No, you can even leave it out. I have no idea how the smoked product is made.

K.salt & fresh grnd blk pepper is best, imho. But for something different I like to use some garlic, onion, thyme, and rosemary. Another idea is to use season salt.

for us, simple is better........you did invite us for some didn't you?:tap:

thanx for the info. i decided to spring for the smoked paprika. never tried it. let me tell you it is awsome! it kicks azz over reg paprika at least on those grilled steaks! cant see it going on everything but ive got enough to use again. sorry didnt get any before pics but heres my plate.

Looks great, I'm going to have to get some smoked paprika, never used it but keep hearing about what a difference it is, Thanks for the pics.

A guy at work told me that his buddy brushes mayonnaise on his steaks as he grills steaks. Says its awesome. I can only guess that because mayo is mainly oil and egg that it might be ok.

But have any of you heard of this or tried it?
