Pam reminded me that I needed to do something with the extra sirloin and pork loin left from making kabobs that I had vac-packed and had sitting in the fridge. So, I decided to see what else I could find that needed to get used before it went bad. Mmmmm, about a pound of sirloin chunks, about 1/2 pound of pork loin chunks, 1/2 a green pepper, 1/2 a red onion, about a pound of crimini shrooms, and a couple small maters. http://www.texasbbqforum.com/images/smilies/icon_idea.gif
So I chopped the meats into smaller pieces and browned them in some garlic butter. Chopped the onion, green pepper, maters, and shrooms. Then I mixed about 2 cups of water, 1/3 cup Soy sauce, couple Tbls of sugar, a little more garlic, some ginger, and poured it into the pan with the browned meat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.

Then I lightly sauted the shrooms, onion and green pepper in butter and added it to the simmering meat and let it simmer about 5 more minutes. Then added the maters and a Tbls of corn starch to thicken the sauce. stirring until it got to the right thickness.
While everything was simmering, I boiled some white rice.

Rice with some butter melting in it and sauce thickened and ready to serve

I think that I was you in a previou life...or is that you were me ion a previous life....

Anyway, that is very close to what I do with left over Leg''o'Lamb..Sometimes I even throw a few pineapple into it as well.

Looks like something straight out of my repertoire, and makes me sorry we are having pizza tonight ( and not home made)

Would it be OK for an obese Okie to eat it with egg noodles?
