I love using my Kettles as smokers. Here's some thighs from last Saturday. The large kettle has some Italian dressing and pesto marinaded thighs that my buddy created. He use mequite chips. There is also some smoked cabbage basted with butter.
The second pic is of the SJP with cherry and sugar maple chunks. The thighs in those pics were dusted with Hootchie Mama, Hogwaller, DDogs apple, and a custom rub sent to me by a friend on another board. We had a taste testing so to speak. We also tasted tested many beers!!
I'm the ugly one holding the weedburner, the uglier one is my buddy Dave, and the handsome one is my son.
I hope you all can see the pics, cause I can't from work.

Nice looking groceries BrisketRex. I hope you don't mind my dropping the pics into your post for easy viewing.

I'd hate to wrestle him for that leg ... I bet he could take me.

Thanks for pulling up the pics. I had the order a bit wrong. Pic 1 is the one of the thighs in the SJP. The ugly ones are still the same ugly ones though.:msn-wink:
Luckily, my boy is not a picky eater. He'll pretty much try everything at least. However, he loves Q!

You'll have a fight on you hands if you tried to take that drummy from him. He's got that, "Go ahead, Make my day!" look in his face.

I recognize it! Saw that look in my baby girl's eyes when I gave her her first ribs.

Great pics, Bro! Now we gotta get Dave on board, so we can hear the real story. :msn-wink:

And Q, thanks for pulling the pics in. It really makes it better to see the "evidence". :essen:

Nice Job BrisketRex! Doesn't look like your master taste tester had any problems with the chicken. I always say - if the kids will eat it, it has to be good.

Good food and family is what it's all about. The picture of your boy and the leg tells the whole story. :kewlpics:

Great looking vittles and family (including Wolfy)

I love kettle chicken too!

I marinaded some jumbo skin off chicken boobs last weekend in Frontera Fajita marinade. I forked the fork out of them to get the marinade to penetrate.

Way too windy out, so they cooked a little higher temp then I wanted, and the edges look burnt, but are really carmelized more than burnt.

Chicken skin look is from the forking

(excuse me if I posted this already. I think the last time was a different Frontera experiment)

Tonight,

Bone in split chicken breasts offset on the kettle

One of my favorites.

So moist, it left a puddle on each plate!

Earl Cambells season salt is all that was on them

No pics from Saturday, but I had an hour to throw some chicken breasts on the kettle.

I am going through withdrawal, smoking wise, and look to get something on the grates this week, although its been hectic as, well, heck!

Outlaws took over the house Saturday, 8yr old had dance recital last night.

Got home at 9pm, too late to cook.

Crazy couple weeks.

Haven't even started my farking taxes!

That's just what I'd expect out of a chicken forker like you.:roflmaoha0:
