First off it is not completed yet. I will complete this weekend. We have our first paying gig this Friday for 75. I need some real pics of us catering, its a work function but all the same. We will try to get some pics to post otherwise they will be on our website.

I would like to know the good, the bad, and the ugly. I need some tweaks, I just put a basic form on it.

how come when i click on any of the links to get the menu or rentals etc i only get a form to fill out, what if i want to see the menu first?

pics of the food look darn good (i almost thought you raided my photobucket :msn-wink: :roflmaoha0::roflmaoha0:)

other than not being able to get the links it looks good, easy to go through and a good look to it :thumbs up: i still want to see the links though :tap: :msn-wink:

:twocents: It's a bit monotone and generic, a lot of red tones and white backgrounds. The pics are good, but they don't jump out at me, and the white background with text makes me feel like I'm looking at a printed ad, not a web page. The top banner works with the changing pics, but I'd slow down the speed slightly, and make sure to get some pics of folks enjoying the food.

Also, add a section for comments from past customers. Personal reviews are a big :thumbs up: for me.

This is also a problem for me, but I presume it'll be fixed this weekend.

No shortage of ego here. :msn-wink:

Maybe an "About Us" page that tells the potential customer what your qualifications are and why they should spend their money on your service. Pretty much what Rob and Jake said, it looks a little "homemade" to me. This is your storefront, remember that.

The first thing that pops out to me is the menu bar.

The black on read and small font is hard to read.

Without seeing your original template and swf's, It's hard to tell you the easiest route to take.

Menu buttons really help them to stand out.

The body message does look generic and like an ad.

The only thing that is standing out is the bullets.

All the font sizes are the same with no bold or any characteristic.

I would remove the email address and phone number since you have the banner and the contact tab.

If you want the email to be click-able try using an image.

Back to the monotone.

People will read emotion as it is written. This site reminds me of the clear eyes commercial.

example.

hello

Hello!

HELLO!

Some page breaks would help split the text up as well.

I would adjust the slide show too, but it's hard to tell how because the banner moves fast but the body is such a slow mood.

I'm going to stop now before brain starts breaking it down and trying to rebuild it.:roflmaoha0:

I hope my criticism is taken properly.:msn-wink:

What are you using to build the page and edit the swf's?

I am using dreamweaver mx and flash mx.

Criticism is very welcome and thank you to all. I want honest opinions

I should have finished at least the index but I wanted some opinions. In all honesty I have barely gotten past the Header. I need some ideas and pics. I will have some pics and hopefully they will give me some ideas.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Yes the menu will be available soon. I was planning on sitting down on Sunday am but we just got another small job. We have two cook and pickups this weekend for small groups.

As far as the monotone I guess that confuses me. Is this in reference to the body?

I haven't really messed with the body a whole lot. I need pics of us catering and smokers. Mine showed today so I will get some pics of it in action tomorrow and friday.

The menu I can see that, I will look at some buttons but first I might alternate the colors from black to white.

I use the CS3 and am looking into the CS4.

You can always look at other catering sites for insperation.

I'll check back in on it next week

For the money the want for that suite, I could buy another smoker :)

I think I know what I want. I just need some pics. I took a couple on my phone today but will have someone take some tomorrow before, during, and after. I don't know how much selling website will be or have to be we are almost booked up through July just by word of mouth.

I got a discount on mx because my brother was one of developers that Macromedia brought in as a consultant when they bought cold fusion. Hes a cold fusion genius. Otherwise I would still be writing in code.

Are you in the IT Field or just a hobby?

No not in the IT field anymore. I owned half of a small software, web development with hosting. We did that for a couple years and supported ourselves then web dev got real cheap with all the WYSIWYG writers. My brother with his software genius started contracting with a lot of companies like Budweiser. That was the beginning of the end. With cheap hosting and web development, also my brother not being in town, it was hard to make a living so I went back into sales.
