took a recipie from someone on another forum and changed it up a little bit, took it from a straight on the grill recipie to a combo, start on the smoker and finish off on the grill.
started out with a marinade, juice from eight blood oranges, season salt, garlic salt,CBP, oregeno(not shown), 2 large yellow onions, 4 cloves garlic, and 4 bottles a beer.

16 chicken thighs skin on

using the above ingreds to your taste make the marinade, i did two gallon ziplocks, half in each. season the chicken with more of the spices and add to marinade and in fridge over night. i also put a slash thru skin on each thigh.

on smoker for about 2 hours at 250, just to get some smoke

move to grill and topped with onions cook til done, the sugar from the orange juice i presume burns easily, they may look burnt but they are perfect.

yessir, in the marinade, reason only three i was hoping i wouldnt have to use 4 but needed to, didnt have enuff liquid. so it wasnt 3 for the marinade and one for the cook. the recipie is accurate. the picture aint.

Good looking thighs, erain. Did the orange flavor come through after cooking?

Nice! Something different. And it looks good enough to eat fer sure!
I'd use a cheaper beer for marinating, put the better stuff in the cook. :msn-wink:
You still get the flavor.
None of that lite stuff though. :ack2:

:drooling: Dang that looks good. You can tell they soaked up the flavor and sugars by the way the skin carmelized. We make a version called Chango(Monkey in Spanish) Chicken. My buddy came up with the name. But the same idea, lots of bird in a bag, some kind of juice, along with some beer, wine or alcohol. I add rum or tequila and then sliced japs, onions, garlic, and cilantro into the bag. A good overnight soak and some of the best dang bird around.

Your looks killer!!!:thumbs up:

Todavía estoy aprendiendo español. ¿Puede usted ayudar a educar a mi?

I think loosely translated the Okie isn't familiar with Spanish monkeys and wants to wear a bra with them one on one. He would like to be educated in the process and would be very grateful... Is that what you said Tim???? :monkey:

Close. More like he once had this affair with an Oragutan(sp) from Spain but was unable to unhook her red bra............thus ruining the romantic chemistry. He'd like someone to educate him on the proper two finger approach to unhooking a bra.
Tim, your Spanish is better than mine. While I can speak it, writing it is a whole nother story!! :monkey: :msn-wink: Crazy!!

writing Spanish is easy when you have BabelFish (http://babelfish.yahoo.com/) to do it for you...

Si, pero in muchas veces, Babel fish es incorrecto in traduccion de sintaxa y la gramatica.
