Had leftover oinker tenderloin and was jonesin' for a Cuban sammie soooo.......
I thin sliced some tenderloin. Had a big ol' Italian loaf on hand (there is no Cuban bread in Peculiar, MO) so I sliced it lengthwise and slathered on yellow mustard & mayo. Built the sammie with layers of dill pickle slices, tenderloin slices, deli ham, swiss cheese and some nice Genoa salami. Brushed the crust of the bread and into the panini press.
Here it is in progress, done, sliced, and plated on the fine china with some of my famous cole slaw -
And it was GOOD.

Dang, another beauty from the press. Looks fantastic!:thumbs up::drooling:

Pardon my stupidity, but is this panini press similar to a waffle maker or something? Could you explain this gizmo for us out here that just got indoor toilets?:msn-wink: Thanks

I'll post a pic of it Al. You can get them about any where. Mine is a Food Network 4 in one press, does sammies, waffles, grills, etc.
You can achieve the same effect by grilling a sammie with a sammie press/weight on top of it. Or a brick wrapped in a couple layers of HD foil. Or a skillet with 2-3 foil wrapped bricks in it.
Sorry I missed you on Skype, been busy. We'll hook up later.

Wow, that looks great, Mike. Not too toasted either. Nothing ruins a good pressed sammie for me more than over toasting. It always rips up the roof of my mouth.
Nice Job! Thanks for sharing.

:wow: Not exactly what I think of as a Cuban, but I think the Cubans need to come up and take lessons from you!

That's a Monstah!

It's basically a George Foreman grill with ridges on the grilling surface.
