Got a FEC100 today. My first pellet pooper ever. I have to say that so far I am impressed, this thing is going to hold a lot of meat!

Thanks to Tim, a.k.a. Smokie Okie, for getting me such a good deal and the great service. If you guys want a Cookshack or a Backwoods, give Tim a call.

Right out of the box.

Lots of great rubs and sauces came with it, don't think I will ever use that much!

Yard is to wet to move her to the back patio, so she is getting seasoned on the front patio, at least till wifey catches me!

Will post more pics later tonight if I get some ribs to put on!

I have had the pleasure of using the 100 many times and cooked on the 500 a weekend in Co.

Very good smokers, easy on fuel, do need to start the cooker out at lower temps to get smoke on the product.

Congrats on your new pit.

Nice Rig I love the FEC. If you take it to comps just ignore the people telling you its a cheater. They are just jealous cause you get to sleep that night after the meat is on

Mike, you really don't have to do anything about the exhaust. A lot of folks just run them the way they are.

Mike, you've had the FEC a while, how do you like it? As good as you had hoped? Have any good/bad points to share? Thanks

Good and not so good, but I would say bad points.

I got a fourth place call in brisket with it. I love the way it cooks brisket and pork butt. The not so good point is that is cooks alot drier than what I am used to with ceramic smokers. I am playing around with a water pan and where to put ribs and chicken on it. My rub has alot of brown sugar in it and it is getting crusty before the meat starts to sweat, so the rub is burning. That didn't happen with my BGE. We are playing around with removing the b.s. from the rub and going to see what happens with that. The BWS is perfect for ribs though, so it's not a big problem. The only problem with the BWS is you can put to much smoke on food if your not carefull.

Overall - I love the FEC and the BWS, but the FEC is making me lazy!

Thanks for the info Mike. Sounds like there is no single perfect smoker, ya make do w/what ya got and that is where the art comes in to play.

Thanks again, I really do appreciate it.:thumbs up::sign0092:
