Thanks Okie for the idea:thumbs up:
Put a lil different twist on the sauce.

For 3# of wings, jumbo (10-12 count), we used this as the marinade.

1Cu white sugar
1Cu dark sugar
1/2Cu soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp garlic
1/2 tsp red pepper

Sauce is very thick so they are going to sit for 24 before hitting the drum.

There is so much sugar if Im runnin the drum at 300 or so am I going to burn up the outside before the inside is cooked? Feels like saucing before cooking. :shrug:

Can't wait to see the finished result. Just make sure they cook indirect at first and then hit them with direct to crisp up the skins. I've used similar marinades many times for wings, with no problems.

I think they'll blacken up pretty well. If you keep them brushed, they'll prolly still be good.

Tip'o'the day-use turbinado sugar in these applications as it won;t be so bad about scorching.

I'll second that. I rarely use plain white sugar in rubs...either brown sugar or raw(turbinado) sugar....

Im thinking tomorrow (for the Bears game) that I will throw em on the drum and allz i got to do is lift the lid the last 5-10min and get the tongs out.

The friggin Dfence is the question this year and that is not normally are problem, ya know:shrug:. Tomorrow will be interesting, believe me,...Ill be postin updates..... on the Q:D

Had to go with more Qed taters, god those are good. Everything else on the platter waitin for the pit.

1/2 the layout. I was going to crisp one side throw the other 1.2 on there crisp that and rework everything to get em sticky.

Mike as always it was one of those things where I knew I would be going away forAWHILE so WTF put er all out there.

I want to say the whole cook took bout 1.5hrs with the taters. I just waited on the chix till brown on one side turn brown on the other, maybe 20-25min a side running at 250*.
