I ordered a Backwoods Piglet about a month ago and it got here Monday.

Much thanks to Glued2it and Cabinetmaker for the help uncrating and loading it up.

I'm kinda proud of it so I thought I'd post a few pix.

Here's the full frontal

here's a shot of the dual stack butterfly damper assy.

The lid opens straight up with a good assist from the two pneumatic cylinders.

Here's a shot of the cavern within. You can order them with up to 8 racks, but I wanted to have plenty of room for butts and briskets. I figure that I can build some half height xtra racks if i want to do a big rib cook.

And last but not least, the obligatory Tel Tru thermo

I think this will help the TQJ BBQ team out a lot. We'll find out @ the Jenks, America comp in a couple weeks.

Good lookin smoker Okie :thumbs up: Can't wait to see how it does for you and the team for sure.

Don't forget to modify your sig line for the new addition. Speaking of additions. Your patio area is going to need some expansion so your guests have some place to hang out too :msn-wink:

Did it ship with that Coors in the can coozie, or was that a customer installed option?

Very nice, but I got to admit.........when a smoker is that clean, I kind of gives me the creeps.

I tend to think of it more like a blank state. A lot of potential there.

Once it gets a few cooks under it's belt, I'm pretty sure that it'll stay in the comp trailer. The Party and Chubby are plenty for normal uses, and don't forget Lucille!

I did some sausage Monday, a brisket deckle Tuesday evening, BBQ shrimp, sausage stuffed Gypsuy peppers and ABT's last night, and plan on chicken tonight.

That was an inexpensive custom modification.:roflmaoha0:

Yeah, me too, I went to work on it directly. First was to spray the entire inside with oil and fire it around 325 for about 8 hours.

Isn't cooking why everybody gets together? As I recall, when you got here you went after the ABTs with a vengeance.

Folks, Rob is the undisputed king of ABTs, hands down. Not onlyu does he do them perfectly, but he uses unusual ingredients.

I am pleased to say that it performed admirably and did everything we asked it to. We may just keep it on the team.

Looks like a mighty fine way to get rid of that "obnoxious shine" that was on the iside of the piglet!:D.
Great lookin grub, especially that salmon fillet!

SmokyOkie
10-11-2008, 09:44 PM
The shine was on it's way out after the first night. I sprayed the whole inside with oil and hot fired it for about 5 hours.:msn-wink:

We will continue to work on it though Dan.
