well i'll kill 2 birds with one stone with this one, me not being a big fisher my son(jaxon) has been bugging me to go fishing, we have gone before but have never caught anything, so one of my bros gave me the idea to take him to fish farm and we would definitly get some. so here are some picks of the trip and the grill. oh and now he wants to go all the time. its kinda like like hunting at the zoo, how many rainbow trout does one need though. 8 fish later and 50 something bucks poorer (is that a word) but a good time was had for sure. hope you enjoy. sorry about the order the pics will be in, in need to see if in photo bucket to can make files.
i love this one, jaxon goes to take the fish off the hook and this is his reaction to the feel of the fish for the first time.

sitting down to eat, the catch, i think i bbq some chicken and some steak to go along with the fish (what pigs we are, cant believe were not fat), this is the last time we will get to eat on the lower deck now that its done and the hot tub got put on it.

you can tell by the look on jax's face there is a fish on on this one, notice the bamboo rod (clasic huck fin style)
http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q389/jakeandpippa/100_0923.jpg?t=1222367900

not so sure what to do with it now that its on the line. priceless. can you believe theres not even 1 beer in my cooler behind him just pop, man the things we do for our kids LOL
http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q389/jakeandpippa/100_0926.jpg?t=1222368338

http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q389/jakeandpippa/100_0898.jpg?t=1222368802
my family probally shaking their head at me, always taking pics of us eating and cooking, im sure your familys are use to it too. nice expression on my oldest face. LOL
http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q389/jakeandpippa/100_0897.jpg?t=1222369137
getting the fish ready to plate soon, looks good
http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q389/jakeandpippa/100_0936.jpg?t=1222369310
cook baby cook, notice the foil i cand stand fish on my grill, i know the hotter the grate the easier to flip it over and stop it from sticking. just a in my head thing and it cleans up easier.
http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q389/jakeandpippa/100_0932.jpg?t=1222369450
i wonder if pip ever gets tired of me saying baby come flip this so i can take a picture, not sure why i dont just get her to take it, huh food for thought
http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q389/jakeandpippa/100_0934.jpg?t=1222369643

http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q389/jakeandpippa/100_0933.jpg?t=1222369808

http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q389/jakeandpippa/100_0922.jpg?t=1222375776

http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q389/jakeandpippa/100_0918.jpg?t=1222376045
at this rate im going to have to open a fish market or get a loan to pay for it LOL
http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q389/jakeandpippa/100_0920.jpg?t=1222376182

What a trip!

I can really identify. I used to take mine to a trout farm when they were little, and I do know what your talking about as far a going broke. They're soooooo much cheaper at the grocery store!:thumbs up:

When I lived in Wyoming, we used to cook the fresh caught fish, head and scales on, just gutted and rinsed. We put onion, a lemon slice and a quarter stick or so of butter in the cavity, wrapped tightly sealed in foil and threw them directly on the campfire. We flipped them after about 20 minutes and you could tell when they were done because they'd start to sizzle in the butter when all the excess moisture cooked out. As I recall, we would then turn them over again for about 5 minutes to crisp the skin on the other side.

We sure used to catch a lot of 'em in the Rockies and Windrivers in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. I don't think that's very far east, but it is a good deal south of you.

A kid catching fish on a cane pole - CLASSIC. That's how I caught my first one. That's how it starts. Then it escalates.
Now I'm partial to All Star rods and Shimano reels. Or an 8 ft. graphite fly rod.
And a 20 ft. Champion bass boat. And a 17 ft. Bass Tracker.
And ..........
She says I have "enough stuff". I'm not so sure.

Teach a man to fish, he'll eat forever.

Or something like that.
