My last rib cook was a rack of baby backs. I wanted to vote in the favorite rib thread, but didn't cause I haven't done any spares. Today that changes. I'm popping the spare cherry (did I say that?) (shutup bill!). Been on for about 45 minutes. I'll take more pics and let ya know how they turn out, and which I like better later today.

Rubbed and ready (even made my own rub this time). corn soaking in sea salt. will go on about 2 hrs into cook

Curt, it looks great, but you need a remote thermo. either that ar a good supply of Formula 409.

Oven thermos are just a problem in a smoker, aren't they.

On the plate with smoked corn, smoked french bread, and cinnamon spiced apples.

They clean up pretty well with a wet soapy rag. I have a remote thermo too, and the one that comes with the chargriller (reads 50 degrees low). Got all the bases covered. When I get one for the new drum I'll get one for the griller too.:thumbs up:

Spray a little PAM on there and they wipe right off also. :msn-wink:

Grub looks good as well.............keep working those spares.....you'll give up on the BBs in time. :D

Hang in there Curt. You'll get the hang of the spares, and when you do.....

A lot of us tend to think of bbs as ribs with training wheels. It takes a while to get it down, and that's what makes it worthwhile.

BBs are good too, they just aren't really ribs. They'e just pork chops with most of the meat cut off, literally.

BBs are grilling food, Spares are BBQ.

just my :twocents:

You said it better than i did.
I like BB'S on the grill ok though what you pay twice the price for
is less than half the meat!
Best.
