I have heard the Praises sung for Blues Hog TN Red for years. About a month ago I had an opportunity to give some a try at a friends house I finally see what all the excitement is about. Around here you can only get it on line and the shipping is more than the sauce. ....So I talked mi Amigo out of a little for comparison and set to work. Now I will admit this isn't exact but with out the exact recipe I don't think your gonna get any closer.

1 quart apple cider vinegar
1 20 oz bottle ketchup
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
2 tsp liquid smoke
1/4 cup paprika
1/3 cup molasses
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 Tbl Black pepper
1 Tbl onion powder
1 Tbl season salt
1 Tbl chipolte powder
2 Tbl red pepper flakes
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp all spice
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp mace

Slowly heat in a non reactive pan to a low simmer. Simmer 15 min allow to cool and bottle. Makes 1/2 gal + a pint.

It has the right look & viscosity and the taste is Tooooo close to call

I may have to reconsider the sauce .. I really prefer my sauce to either be smart or insane .. I don't know if I can handle stupid on my day off bwahaha

Thanks for sharing. I will have to try it (after converting to metric and scaling down a little - do not know what I would do with a 1/2 gallon of sauce).

Any idea how long it keeps ?

I have never had a 1/2 gal stick around longer than 6 months. You need to cook more:roflmaoha0:

OK, as soon as I finish what I already have on hand, I will do it.

Thanks again.
