I have heard the Praises sung for Blues Hog TN Red for years. About a month ago I had an opportunity to give some a try at a friends house I finally see what all the excitement is about. Around here you can only get it on line and the shipping is more than the sauce. ....So I talked mi Amigo out of a little for comparison and set to work. Now I will admit this isn't exact but with out the exact recipe I don't think your gonna get any closer.

1 quart apple cider vinegar
1 20 oz bottle ketchup
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
2 tsp liquid smoke
1/4 cup paprika
1/3 cup molasses
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 Tbl Black pepper
1 Tbl onion powder
1 Tbl season salt
1 Tbl chipolte powder
2 Tbl red pepper flakes
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp all spice
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp mace

Slowly heat in a non reactive pan to a low simmer. Simmer 15 min allow to cool and bottle. Makes 1/2 gal + a pint.

It has the right look & viscosity and the taste is Tooooo close to call

BTW Dawg, if your gonna put your photos on photobucket anyway, theres a box right next to the pic that says "links to share this photo". Just click on the bottom link thats says "IMG" and your photo will be copied. You can then post a full size pic by right clicking and pasting the URL right in your post. Easy as pork butt!:msn-wink:

I may have to reconsider the sauce .. I really prefer my sauce to either be smart or insane .. I don't know if I can handle stupid on my day off bwahaha

Thanks for sharing. I will have to try it (after converting to metric and scaling down a little - do not know what I would do with a 1/2 gallon of sauce).

Any idea how long it keeps ?

I have never had a 1/2 gal stick around longer than 6 months. You need to cook more:roflmaoha0:

OK, as soon as I finish what I already have on hand, I will do it.

Thanks again.
