Hi again guys,

I found out something today. Learning about a new toy is kinda like having a new woman in your life. You have to know and investigate everything before you can say that you understand it. Mods aren't the only answer. I found out that a lot of my problem was having the correct settings on your intake vent but more important was the controlling of the cooking heat across the grate. I held this trial run to 230* to 240* for app three hr, buy closing down the exhaust app. 1/3. Worked for me. These are the final results re: the mods, I hope, and the next pics wil be some cooks. E.T. Sorry this is so long.

Wire mesh around grate was the only gavalnized item.
