View Full Version : Peculiar Mike could use cheered up

05-10-2012, 09:18 PM
Just got a call from Mike and it seems that he has developed a severe infection in his lower leg and pneumonia to boot. Been in the hospital since Tuesday.

He says he's afraid of prayers, but he sure could use a cheer up from everybody.

Looks like he is going to make a full recuperation, but it's pretty tough for him right now.

He says that we can all chip in on a laptop for him so that he can read your posts from the hospital. I wished him good luck with that.

Please drop him a PM or make a post here to help cheer his ornery a$$ up.

Just think about all the good food you are going to make (and eat) after you get out (and after the $hit they serve in hospitalshttp://smileys.sur-la-toile.com/repository/Crade/0026.gif, it will be even better) - something to look forward to. http://smileys.sur-la-toile.com/repository/Divers/cuisinier-06.gif

Hang in there Mike. I traded Jane my laptop for your Harley, so you'll be able to keep up with happenings at The Joint. Glad to help a friend in need.

Jane brought HER work laptop (have not seen Donnie Chadd's, I want my Harley back) to the hospital this morning.
I have been stuck every place they can put a needle and most places more than once. Feeling faint from loss of blood. They have pumped 54 bags of 2 types of antibiotics into me so far, still coming. I don't feel bad, have no pain, and can get up and around. My left leg is really swollen from the knee down, but not as bad as it was, and not as red. They have both legs in UnaBoot compression wraps. Hope to get out of here tomorrow. Then 3-4 more weeks of oral antibiotics and rewraps on my legs every 2 days. I'm gonna beat it. :msn-wink:
:sign0092: I really appreciate y'all. Good friends are hard to come by. :thumbs up:

Of course you will beat it. You're too ornery to be beat!

Steve, HUGE blue! My favorite for eatin'!

I got a call from Peculiar mike tonight. It seems that ther doctors saw fit to send him home today.

He still as quite a road to recovery, but he must be making progress or they wouldn't have sent him home.....or maybe they just had their fill of his orneryness.:msn-wink:

Well, I got out of the hospital today. It was really good to breathe fresh air and not be tethered to an IV pump.
I have 3-4 more weeks of antibiotics, UnaBoots and visits to a wound treatment center. They think I will be in pretty good shape by then.
Lost 14 1/2 lbs. in 8 days of laying around the hospital. They had me on 1800 calories. :ack2: Actually the food was pretty good, just not much of it.
Not running any races but I feel good, just a bit weak.

Glad you are home Mike!

Hope you mend fast!
