Came home from the American Royal after cooking with the BbqBrethren Team.
Made an awesome pizza sauce, fired up the lg. BGE and was settled into a comfy 550 degrees with lump.
First pizza was awesome. Wifey and I devoured that and was pre-baking a second commercial grade crust.
I was too tired to think after a 30 marathon double contest, 15 hr. trip home.

Armed with second crust on the peel, raised the lid with my right hand/arm......and failure.

Please check your bolts.

Dealer contacted, pics sent and Mother Ship is supposedly working on it?
I was devastated to say the least.
The bolt was snug, bent the bolt and whammo, what a kick in the groin.
Wish me luck folks.

Do you suppose I can call them up and tell them that my egg vaporized when it was struck with a top secret prototype ray gun and get a new one?? :msn-wink:

Not digging at you bull - just playing. I truly hope they work with you to get you taken care of

Sorry ive not posted recently.

The mother ship came through with a new dome, daisy wheel, ceramic top and thermometer. :thumbs up:
I ordered a nomex gasket kit and have it in hand.

Problem is that the egg temp must be 60 plus degrees for the glue to hold the gasket properly. No biggie, my big steel keg is getting a fair amount of use until spring.

Thanks for all your kind comments and thoughts.

Mike

I'm very happy for you and I'm sure if it happened to me here in Canada, I'd be sh*t out of luck!

Can you not bring your egg into the house where it is warm to replace your gasket?

Our house is kind of small to park a large egg in. Also I do not want the fumes from the glue in here, wife has bad allergies.

I will wait until warmer weather arrives, thank's for asking though.
