Not sure where this belongs , but in the spirit of at least making a semi related post :

peppers in a couple of plastic tote bins did pretty well this year.

Multiple posts no prollem IMO.

Tell us more about these earth boxes. How did you come up with the insert in the bottom? What is the function of the pipe?

Do you know what kind of chilis those are?

If you still have more serranos, I have a kicka$$ table sauce recipe for them, i.e. if you are interested.

Guess I'll start a new thread for that.

Tag says " Chili Red "

:roflmaoha0: :roflmaoha0::roflmaoha0: You plant serranos and habeneros and you want a mild version of table sauce ... love it :roflmaoha0:

I'm not poking fun at you, it just sounds funny. I figure you want something that everyone can enjoy.

Nope , I deserve some fun poking :roflmaoha0:

Never had a really good batch of peppers , well there was that one time with the lil super chili (?) that points itself to the sun as it grows and is nothing but a ton of heat in a tiny lil package :wow:

So who'da thunk one single serrano plant would get real happy and make close to a hunert crazy hot peppers ??? :blushing:

The habs are typical for me 1/2 dozen outta 4 plants.

I took a bite outta one serrano , holly hottness Batman !!!
Gave a couple to a good friend that like really hot stuff with a warning . He knew the warnings because about blinded himself with one of those stupid hot supe chilis . Sent me a text a couple of weeks ago , and I quote :
: Do NOT chop up 1/2 of those dang things and put it into a small batch of chili !!! " :roflmaoha0::roflmaoha0::roflmaoha0:

The table sauce is not that hot because the peppers are diluted with vinegar and the sugar knocks the heat back a bit, but it is a pepper sauce.

You'll need a lot more than 20 of them to make a batch.

There is a lot of variety in the heat level of different serranos. The plants with the dark fuzzy leaves seem to be the hottest.

For us in Oklahoma, the second crop of habs is the largest. You prolly don't have a long enough season to get a second crop though. If you could bring the plant inside, you might be surprised how it did.

Haha Funny stuff - Chili Head beware! I don't do as much stupid hot stuff as I used to, but I can. It's one of the crazy gifts I have (as seen by a few here). I like hot, but I also like to enjoy the other ingredients in my food too .. so any more I back the heat down and enjoy the food.

Thanks for the link too :thumbs up:
